On Clothing...
I buy "uniforms."
It's easier and I look very good in tailored clothes (tall, etc.)
Or, even if I don't look very good in them, at least I can just stick
them on and not worry about it . I got SO mad at the Gap
about a year ago that I was smiling from ear to ear when their CEO
got his butt canned. I have lived for years in gap t-shirts and
khakis. Before that, Gap jeans. Last year I went to the gap and
found myself asking the 12 year old who was waiting on me if they had
one single pair of pants where the waistline (I use that term
loosely) covered my pubic hair. Nope.
I HATE SEVENTIES CLOTHES. Hated them in the seventies!!! This
swirley polyester junk, and I just do not get the slut mystique look. I have seen some photos of the Calista Lockhart woman or
whatever her name is on the lawyer television show and she literally
looks as though she's been out hooking it!
And those little tiny shirts that don't cover the belly button? Give
me a break. I am five foot ten and for me, that's simply an ill-
fitting t-shirt. Plus, my stomach gets cold. And FURTHERMORE, those
little tiny blouses that pull over the bosom and are too short and
are worn over a skirt in a "I'm professional but if you say the right
word I'll blow you" way (sorry)... Oh -- always in powder blue, btw
(I ABHOR that color). Well, as someone with D cups, having my shirt
poof out because it's too small has really never even seemed mildly
attractive to me.
I have to say that i like platforms, and find them amusing (although
I have seen some very dangerous looking ones). But sheesh.
I looked around recently and found some lovely t-shirts and khaki
shorts. Been wearing them for 20 years, will continue to do so for
the next 20 at least!
(I last liked clothes in about 1990, I think. I'm a
real sucker for a classic blazer, and NOT one that's too small,
either!)
