Sewing Notes
Ugh. I hate sewing. But I'm getting closer and closer to finishing at least one panel of drapes for the master bedroom. One panel is all we need, actually, despite the fact that my husband is now pretending that I'll make more (HA. fat chance. This has been MISERABLE.). For two years now, we've had a ghastly king bed sheet tacked over the window to keep out the morning light. Soon we will have a beautiful, silk (ooooo) curtain, lined (did I mention? pain in the a**). And the color is very neat. It's a dark room, filled with dark furniture and such. The silk is indonesian, I think. Orange on a red warp (or do I mean weft?). At any rate, it looks iridescent. I put the curtain rod up yesterday and am trying to figure out if I want the drapes to bunch at the bottom or not. Who knows? I am actually pleating them on top a bit (a first), so when I make them, it's DONE, so I'm terrified of figuring out how long they should be. Silk is expensive, darn it, even though I found an inexpensive store. (There are about 30 feet of windows in this room. yikes.)
