Who would you want to have a conversation with? Remember that old question? Well, I always thought that it would be Winston Churchill, but this morning, I realized that I wouldn't have much to say to him, and he'd probably ask me all sorts of dates and war stuff and historical information. Since I seem to be totally brain-dead, I had a vivid picture, this morning, of having my dream-fulfillment lunch with Winston, and of having it be a total dud. An uncomfortable lunch with a silent, disgusted Winston who resents being called back from the netherworld by someone who doesn't even know their history. I've changed my mind. I'll go for Robertson Davies, one of my all-time favorite authors (classified as a Canadian Didact, for heaven's sake!). He was totally up on his Jung, on theatre, on medieval literature, Rabelais, the church, etc. etc. etc. Cool stuff. I'd like to have lunch with someone who could teach me a bit! Plus, he has a sense of humor. goodnight
